“Give Artie a wish list.” Hahaha…you won’t believe how long I laughed at that.
First, head on over here to Z100, where you can get a sneak listen to full streaming versions of the songs to be featured in Glee‘s season 2 premiere, “Audition” (airing this Tuesday!). Then, feel free to check out my thoughts on each song below while you rock out (I starred my favorite):
1) Empire State of Mind (Jay-Z & Alicia Keys)
One word: a cappela. Oh wait, that’s two words. The highlight of the song for me, very reminiscent of that glee club-sound. (also check out my high/low notes for the song in a separate post, here)2) Telephone (Lady Gaga)
The vocals are strong, but kind of feel overshadowed by the music. But, based on sneak peekage the reason you’d be excited for this one is in the actual episode (wink-wink).* 3) Billionaire (Travie McCoy & Bruno Mars)
“Give Artie a wish list”. Haha…but really, if that’s Chord Overstreet’s (Sam’s) voice, then I think I’m liking.4) Listen (Beyonce)
I’m more excited to see Charice sing this in the actual episode. Just to make sure that big voice really does come out of that little body.5) What I Did For Love (A Chorus Line)
Another very Rachel song choice. It fits that Lea Michele vocal range we all know and love, and relates to Rachel’s character.
