Okay, so we’ve got our first fantasy Coldplay song choice for Glee next season, coming to you from Garrett (thanks for commenting and participating!). Garrett’s pick just happens to be one of my personal Coldplay favorites, as a ballad for Will Schuester – The Scientist.

“It’s all about neglecting a relationship and wanting to come back to it, but it’s too late. Will tries to get his relationship with Emma started, but he forgot about her and made out with Shelby and had [a sleepover] with April. When he finds out about her new relationship with her dentist, Carl, he thinks, “That could’ve been me if I had just tried harder to be with her.” Will lost his chance, and he can’t get it back.”
The Scene:
Will watches Emma from outside her office. She’s on the phone, having a flirtatious call with her new “dentist beau”, Carl, as he breaks into song. We flash back and forth between Will singing in the hallway, a seemingly happy Emma in her office, and Carl on the other side of the call in his own office. But as Will reaches the end of his song he realizes Emma has left, and he looks to see her turning the corner. Leaning against her office door, he watches her go.
