In light of Coldplay having second thoughts and finally agreeing to offer up their song catalog to Glee, gleeky fan that I am, I’ve been letting my imagination run wild thinking up the Coldplay song possibilities. Because of my crazy writer-nature, naturally I’m always thinking of which songs are more “character-fitting”. And there’s one Coldplay song I could especially picture for the upcoming second season, as a solo for Quinn Fabray – Viva La Vida (read on to see why):
If you’ve never heard the song, listen to the lyrics and you’ll see what I mean. The second Quinn got pregnant, it changed not only her life but her whole outlook on living. She no longer “rules” her “world” (the school), and she’s had to cope with what that means for her throughout the whole first season. Now, you might argue that Quinn no longer has the baby to worry about – Shelby adopted Beth in the finale, remember? But just because Quinn’s opting to give her up, that doesn’t mean the rest of the school is going to forget the whole thing so easily. Quinn walking her old halls again the next year, reminiscing about the way things were before…I can imagine that happening.
Which Coldplay songs would you guys choose for the Glee cast to sing? Take your pick in the comments (be sure to explain your picks), and each week this summer I’ll choose one of your song choices to showcase in a post!

This is good blog message, I will keep this in mind. If you add more video and pictures because it helps understanding
My pick is “The Scientist” from the album Clocks.
The reason I chose this song is because it is all about neglecting a relationship and wanting to come back to it but it’s too late. Will tries to get his relationship with Emma started but he forgot about her and made out with Shelby and had sleepovers with April. When he finds out about her new relationship with her dentist Carl he thinks “That could’ve been me if I had just tried harder to be with her.” Will lost his chance and he can’t get it back.
Ooh I also forgot to mention how it’s presented in the episode. Will sings it in the hallway outside of Emma’s office while she’s on the phone having a flirtatious call with her beau Carl. It goes back and forth between this setting and him singing it on stage and the other side of the phone call in Carl’s dentist office.
Please feel free to make any changes, just keep the bare bones of it. Thank you and please notice that these are one entry, just divided into 2 comments if I am chosen.
Lastly, the song ends with Emma leaving the office and Will singing the last words in the hallway as he watches her go. Thank you and please feel free to change it!

You cannot go passed ‘Fix you” from X&Y
or my other choice would be ‘We never change’ from the album parachutes
any of their songs on the show would be amazing
Great choice!
i choose The nosebleed section by the Hilltop hoods and i chose that song because i really like that song and think it would really suit all their voices and that is why i chose the nosebleed section by the hilltop hoods.
I definitely think that they should do “Clocks”. It won grammies when it first came out. Plus, that is my favorite song by them. I also think that they should do “Glass of Water”, “Fix You”, and “Lovers in Japan”
I always wanted them to do Viva La Vida, but I alays pictured that song as more of an epic group number for Nationals or Regionals or somthing. I still wish New Directions had have done Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody instead of Vocal Adrenaline as a group number.
Now that you mention it though I can imagine Quinn singing this. What I picture is it is prom night and either Kurt/Blaine or Lauren/Puck (either one, but I would prefer Klaine) beat Qinn for prom royalty. The winners do a celebratory number obviously, but later on they show Quinn and either by herself or for Glee she sings Viva La Vida and they mix clips of her singing and the groups reactions, with shots of how her life has gone since she became pregnant up until the birth, and then her building her life back up only to have it come down again at prom night when she lost the crown.
“what if” could be a good choice and it can be sung either by Finn or Jesse, because they can make the tone. Another option could be “Viva La Vida” and it can be sung by Puck as he once was the ruler of the school and now its under the power of Sizes. And the last one but not the least is “Yellow” and it can be sung by Finn again or Jesse to Rachel, because it is someone who wrote a love song
